Filled with the Spirit

“You can be, as a Christian, filled with the Holy Spirit. Every Christian has the Spirit or he could not be a Christian. We are baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit and made members of the body by the work of the Spirit uniting us to the body of Christ in regeneration. ‘If any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his’ (Romans 8:9), and Christ dwells in us unless we are reprobates (2 Corinthians 13:5). I think that ought to settle that. Every Christian does have a measure of the Spirit…But you must be convinced that it is God’s will for you to be filled with the Spirit.” A.W. Tozer, October 2, 1952. In Tozer Speaks to Students: Chapel Messages Preached at Wheaton College. Camp Hill: Christian Publications, 1998. 0875097472. pp. 106-107.
