Job 35-37

Elihu goes on to criticise Job, claiming that God is high above humanity and how can Job claim that he is right and God wrong? God will not respond to Job’s plea that he listen and vindicate him. He slams Job again by saying, “Job opens his mouth with empty talk; without knowledge he multiplies words” (35:16). In chapters 36-37 Elihu recounts God’s greatness and his control over the world. His theme is that “The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress” (37:23). Thus ends the speeches of all Job friends and acquaintances.
